One of the many things I’ve discovered during the pandemic lockdown is the importance of celebrating. No event is too small. And for a writer, milestones are especially significant. As such, I’d like to take a moment and share with you my first published poem, “MEMORANDUM: To Whom It May Concern.” Please use this blog entry to watch a reading of the poem and learn about its backstory.
This publication is particularly meaningful to me because the poem is my first poetry publication, appearing in The Louisville Review in Issue 93, back in the summer of 2022. I grew up in the Louisville suburbs, and my family lives in the city today. And I earned my MFA in Writing from the Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing at Spalding University.
